Author Launch

The author launch felt close to the handmade-gifts days: small audience, real effort, and no huge system waiting in the background. The work was about finding why people should care and then giving that reason enough chances to travel.

01

How I did it

I helped shape the positioning around the book so the launch had a hook beyond 'new book out now'.

I planned the content and distribution rhythm around the author's existing audience, then pushed for formats that felt personal instead of over-managed.

The campaign kept moving through posts, outreach, story angles, reminders, and the small follow-ups that usually decide whether a launch keeps breathing.

02

The reasons behind it

A debut author cannot rely on automatic trust. The campaign needed to make the author feel knowable and the book feel worth sharing.

The audience was still small, so the plan had to work with momentum, not mass reach.

Personal distribution mattered because people buy first books from people they believe in, not from launch calendars.

03

The outcome

150 copies sold in four months.

The author's audience grew from 2,000 to more than 14,000 followers.

Creator partnerships reached a combined audience of more than 50,000 people.

The launch created real movement without a big team or elaborate machinery behind it.

04

How I managed it all

I managed the campaign as a lot of small decisions adding up: what to say, when to say it, where to push, and when to repeat without becoming annoying.

I kept the launch grounded in the author's voice so the work felt personal, not packaged.

The system was scrappy by design: track what is moving, double down there, and keep the story warm.

Same board, different mess.
